Full ThrottleLatest Happenings At Misbehavin-RCBehind The Scenes October 2003 is now officially behind us, and cold weather is setting in. So that means snow is right around the corner. So it's time to get your trucks ready for some of the most memorable driving experiences that are right around the corner. Speaking of the colder season of the year, I have been working on some general tips for those planning to drive their trucks in the snow and ice. Although I'm still planning on adding that information in a future update once I finish it, Traxxas has published an article as well. So if you want some information regarding this subject, check out Winter Operating Tips on www.traxxas.com, as it covers much of what I had planned to mention. Once again the number of page views keep steadily increasing over time. The month of October increased over September by about 13,000 page views, and finished up with a total of around 65,000 page views for the month. As I've mentioned before, I prefer to track my traffic by page requests instead of hits, which is often used by those trying to show a high traffic rate for advertising purposes. Hits are a very poor way of trying to measure traffic as it is largely determined by the numbers of graphics and individual requests on each page. By simply doubling the amount of images on a page you could effectively double your hits. However that doesn't mean that traffic has increased, but rather more files are being served to each person. If I were to report my hits instead of page views, it would easily be over one million hits. So you can see the dramatic difference between the two figures. With the way things have been moving, the month of November should put the site past the 70,000 page view mark. Which is much larger than I had ever envisioned when I started the site.
Latest Updates This update brings several new tech articles to the site. I could have waited until I was finished with the next reviews I'm working on. However since I'm still a few weeks away from having those done, I thought it would be better to go ahead and put these updates on the site. Those of you who have been considering a T-Maxx forward-only conversion can now see the walkthrough, as it's among the new tech articles. You'll also find a walkthrough for swapping a nitro motor head, and a tech article showing how to determine the condition of your piston and sleeve. Not much has been added on the electric scene this time around, except an article describing some of the common motor terms to help newcomers understand what they're looking at when buying a new motor. I do have some electric RC information I currently working on though. If you look closely you may notice the the left-hand menu has changed slightly. I'm using a slightly smaller font to make a little more room, and the menu itself has changed in the Pit Lane Area. I've taken the General Information group, and split it into three categories: General Nitro, General Electric, and General Information. It's just a way to further organize the growing amount of information on the site. Also some of the topics for the Nitro Rustler, Nitro Stampede, and T-Maxx, have been moved to the General Nitro section. On the review front, I mentioned I'm currently working on several reviews at the moment. In case you're interested, they involve Crescenzi Racing, King Headz, MSJ, and Swami RC. So towards the end of November, or the beginning of December, you'll have several new items to consider adding to your stable of RC cars.
Until next time, keep on bashin'!!!
