50's Chevy Pick-up With Ice Flames
For this body I based the design off of a painted RC10GT body in RCCA as my inspiration. The blue on blue flames gave a new twist to the classic flame look that I liked, so I decided to see how it would look on a truck body. I also thought a truck of this vintage would look nice with a "wooden bed". So I planned on that as a new twist to what I'd seen, and figured it would be a good exercise since I've haven't done that before.
I started out with an early 50's Chevy Pick-up Body from Pro-line. This is a body, although designed for a Maxx, will work on a Stampede.
For the flames I applied masking tape and cut the design into it, then peeling away the excess. Liquid mask would probably be easier in hindsight and after this will become an item in my painting arsenal without a doubt.
I also used the following colors in Faskolor paints.
