Easy Pull Body Clips

Have you ever wrestled with a body clip while trying to remove it??? Ever spent a few minutes looking for a body clip only to give up in frustration because they're too hard to find in the dirt or grass??? I know I did, and after it happened to me a few times I wanted a way to help eliminate some of this frustration. I thought of a "handle" that I made for a LAN rack a few years back. The handle was modified some and I ended up using fuel line hose instead of an aluminum tube to prevent it from beating up the body. A few months after I adopted these for use on my trucks I came across a tip in a RC magazine that detailed this same idea. So evidently I'm not the only one who finds these clips useful since it gives you something good to grab onto with your fingers and makes it much easier to find a clip, should you lose it, after that killer unplanned barrell roll.

This requires two wire ties, a piece of fuel line hose, and a body clip. The hose can be cut to any length you desire, mine are around an inch long. I also prefer to use fluorescent hose and ties. Not only does it look cool, but it helps make it stand out even more if you happen to lose it.

Now take a wire tie and feed it through the body clip and tighten it down around the big end of the clip. If you leave a little slack you can take the handle and move it to a new clip should this one ever become bent.

Now slide the piece of hose all the way down on the wire tie.

Follow this up with another wire tie and run it all the way down right behind the hose. Make sure you put this wire tire on correctly, otherwise it will pull right back off.

Now snip the excess ends from the wire ties.....

...and enjoy.
