Chargers

Using a Timed Charger

While it's easier to charge NiCad's with a peak charger, it is possible to charge your NiCad's with a basic timed charger. Even higher capacity packs can be charged using the following procedure. However, do not use the following procedure with NiMH packs. It will damage them.

  • Before charging feel the temperature of the battery pack, it should be at room temperature.

  • Start your charger and check the temperature of your pack every 3-5 minutes.

  • If the pack still feels cool continue charging, you may have to start the timer again on higher Mah packs.

  • If you have to start the timer again check the pack temperature every couple of minutes.

  • When the pack becomes warm, disconnect it from the charger.
