Replacement ScrewsOver time the stock Phillips head screws become lost, bent, or stripped. So you'll want to have several screw sizes available in your pit box as replacements. While you can replace the screws with some of similar characteristics, you'll find some benefits when considering to upgrade the screws to a stronger metal or using hex head screws. The stock screws are rather soft and bend easily. At times this can make removing some parts difficult due to the screw being bent. So replacing the screws with some made of stronger steel can make a lot of sense. Phillips head screws are well known for their heads becoming stripped after being used several times. This makes them difficult to remove because the screwdriver isn't able to provide enough bite on the screw after this happens. Screws with a hex head are a good way to eliminate this problem. There are a couple of different ways to obtain replacement screws for your E-Maxx. Most local hobby stores have a large amount of replacement screws on hand. However this can often be one of the more expensive ways to purchase the screws as they often come in small packages with just a few screws. Buying several of these packages can add up quickly. Your local hardware store is often a good place to shop for many of the screws you may need. However keep in mind that some hardware stores may not stock all the necessary sizes. A third option is to purchase a replacement screw kit, and if you are looking to replace all the screws in your
E-Maxx
this would probably be the best route. Some replacement screw kits will contain just enough screws for your truck while others may come with extra screws, which will come in handy should you lose a screw one day while running your truck. So be sure to keep that in mind when shopping for screw kits.
