Emergency Shoulder BoltA shoulder bolt that attaches the shock cap to the shock braces, or a camber link to the bulkhead isn't an easy thing to replace if you lose or break one and you don't have a spare handy. You just can't take any screw and have it work in it's place as a temporary fix. There is a way to solve this dilemma, however.
![]() It involves another machine screw of the same dimensions and thread pattern as the shoulder bolt, a washer, and a very small piece of fuel line tubing.
![]() Take the washer and place it in on the screw. Follow this with the fuel tubing. You now have a makeshift shoulder bolt.
![]() When using this shoulder bolt it may actually be easier to place the fuel line hose in the camber link or shock cap itself, then screw the screw in. The screw will fit snug, and will probably require that you screw it in with a screwdriver or hex wrench, but the outcome will be a bolt that may just save you an afternoon of not being able to run your truck.
