Soldering JigOften you need a third hand to help hold an item while you solder it. This is where a soldering jig comes in handy. You can buy a soldering jig such as the X-acto X-tra Hands, or you can simply make one out of some ordinary household materials. I made a simple jig out of a clothes hanger, a piece of 2x4, an alligator clip, and a few wire ties. I used the wire ties to strap the alligator clip to a section of the clothes hanger. Then I drilled a small hole in the 2x4 to slide the other end of the clothes hanger into. You want a tight fit so that the hanger doesn't turn while you are using it to hold an item.
