ToolboxesFlambeau Tackle Box RepairSeveral months after purchasing my Flambeau tackle box, the latch for the built in tray on the top of the lid broke. I really found this compartment useful as it's where I kept all my body clips and washers at, so they would be easily accessible. I really liked the layout of this tackle box, and refused to purchase another, and even though I was sure I could write the company and get a replacement lid I figured it was bound to happen again. After thinking for a while I came up with a creative repair solution, which is the least intrusive on normal operation, and yet is very reliable. I had a few metal posts that come with the Battery and Receiver Clamp Kit lying around that I had removed from the Stampedes when I made the Velcro battery straps. So I decided to put one of them to good use. I drilled a small hole in the center of where the tray lid shut and inserted a metal post. Then I screwed a 3mm Locknut onto the backside of the box lid to hold the post in place. Following that I drilled a hole in the clear plastic portion of the lid for the post to pass through, and was done. A spare body clip holds the lid in place, and the toolbox is just as good as new.
