AJS Machine 180 StandTesting and Final Thoughts
If you are someone who likes to start, or tune, their truck on a stand, you'll be happy to note that this stand is tough enough that you can start your truck on it. The fact that it holds the truck in a secure fashion, ensures that you should have no trouble with the truck slipping off the stand while you're starting or tuning. It takes a tough well-designed stand to hold a bucking T-Maxx when it's idle is set too high. This stand does so without even breaking a sweat, and allows you to get that idle back under control in no time at all.
The only shortcoming I see for this stand, is the fact that it will not hold the truck in an upside-down position. However, considering that it allows unrestricted access to almost every other area of the truck I didn't find myself needing to access the underside of the truck very often. When I did, it was easy enough to just simply prop the truck on it's side against the stand, and remove a skidplate or transmission screw as needed. A work stand is one of those items that never seem to make it to the top of your purchase list. Most of the time you're more concerned about buying an upgrade to make your truck faster or tougher. However a stand should be in everyone's collection of tools, as it can make installing those upgrades much easier. The AJS stand is a tough and durable addition to your collection of tools. Judging by it's construction, I imagine it's going to outlast about all the tools in my Pit Box several times over. So if you don't already have a stand, give this one some serious consideration. You'll never know how much you'll use until it's there in front of you!!!
