Carbon Fiber Chassis
T-Maxx Race Chassis

Psycho-Tek Carbon Fiber T-Maxx Chassis

Introduction

Aluminum parts are nice, but if you really want to turn some heads carbon-fiber will surely accomplish the task. Aluminum parts are everywhere, but parts of the carbon-fiber variety are a little harder to find in the off-road world. That's why I've been anxious to check out this carbon-fiber chassis by Art's Hobby.

This chassis is a direct replacement for the stock chassis plate, and being made of 4 mm thick carbon fiber it is tough as well. The chassis plate is CNC milled, and all the holes that are countersunk with the stock plate are countersunk with this replacement plate as well. In addition to the excellent attention given to the screw holes, you'll also find that cutouts have been provided on the chassis to help lighten it, and provide some cooling for the lower half of the motor as well.

The chassis itself weighs in at a mere 5.9 oz, which is 1.5 oz lighter than the stock plate it replaces. So between the head turning good looks and durable construction, this plate can also shed some weight as well.

If color coordinating your T-Maxx is something that is a priority to you, Art's Hobby offers three variations of their chassis. It comes in the following colors:

  • Blue
  • Gold
  • Silver

The version I got my hands on, was their silver version, and speaking from seeing it first hand the carbon-fiber pattern really stands out. When you drop your T-Maxx on the ground right beside your buddy after installing the chassis, you had better believe he is going to start drooling and ask you where you got it!!!
