Y-Factor Stand

Extreme Standz Y-Factor Stand

Testing and Final Thoughts

The Extreme Standz Y-Factor stand is a very versatile addition to a pit box. With it's multiple configurations, and the ability to narrow it's width, it can be used with just about any off-road RC available. The molded rubber on the parts does an excellent job of holding your truck in position, allowing you to work on the truck instead of trying to keep it balanced.

If you are someone who likes to start their truck on a stand, you'll be happy to note that the Y-Factor is tough enough that you can start your truck on it. The fact that it can be easily assembled and disassembled makes it easy to carry into the field, and ensures that portability is no hassle at all.

While many other stands have built in parts trays, a magnetic strip for it is often something that others are missing. Anything that helps keeps small parts confined to a small area is a very welcome addition to a work stand. The ability to support your truck at an angle is another nice benefit, as viewing the truck at an angle can often make it easier to reach certain screws on the chassis.

The only shortcoming I see for this stand, is the fact it would be nice if Extreme Standz started including four more spacers with their kit, which would bring the total up to ten. This would allow more clearance in situations such as I demonstrated in the previous section of this review. As the kit stands now, you can use it in those certain situations, but you may find you need to keep the truck at an angle. The extra spacers would allow you more configuration options in those circumstances.

Priced around $20, this stand is still a very affordable and versatile work stand. Along with that, it's easily transportable as well. So if you're looking for an alternative to building your own, and you don't want to pay the price that some of the premium stand manufacturers are asking, the Y-Factor may be just what you're looking for.
