RC Raven Maxx Bumpers

Introduction

If there's one part that really takes a beating on a Maxx, it's the bumper. Sure the bulkhead itself takes a lot of stress, but the bumper is the part that takes the physical contact in a collision. That's why, after a few times out with your stock Maxx, you'll notice your stock bumpers really showing some wear.

Just like with any other part I've received from RC Raven, these bumpers were absolutely beautiful. Most of RC Raven's parts are powder coated, and that's an option with their bumpers as well. However the bumpers I have are their Deluxe Slotted Bumpers, with a highly polished finish. I like the slotted bumper's look much better than their standard bumper, as it offers a more traditional bumper look. That's just my opinion, and which one really looks better is more of a personal preference.

Both styles of bumpers are milled from 6061 T-6 aluminum, so they're going to be tough and able to take some punishment. In my case, with my driving, that's a very good thing. The slotted bumpers weigh in at 1.3 oz each, which .6 oz heavier than the stock bumper it replaces. So you add some weight with each one, but in doing so you are beefing up a critical component of your Maxx. The nicest thing about these bumpers is the fact that even though they can become scratched over time, it will take a lot more abuse to make them look as bad as the stock bumpers do when they have some wear on them.

If color coordinating your Maxx is something that is a priority to you, RC Raven has you covered. They offer the plate in a total of 6 different finishes:

  • Black
  • Blue
  • Brushed Aluminum
  • Chrome
  • Red

The bumpers come without any hardware, because nothing is needed. They are a direct replacement for the stock Maxx bumpers, and a very good looking replacement at that.
