Testing and Final Thoughts

The RC Raven roll cage not only looks good, but is very durable as well. Being constructed out of 3/16 inch steel tubing, makes it easy to see why this roll cage is as durable as it is. The large protected area under the cage, means that your T-Maxx is very well protected in the event the roll cage is put to the test. I also like the fact how the roll cage will still fit under nearly any lexan body on the market for the T-Maxx, with only slight modifications needed, if they're even needed at all.

The powder coated finish, which RC Raven is almost synonymous with, is very tough and durable. The powder coating can withstand much more abuse than many anodized coatings I've seen. I also like how RC Raven decided to go with a traditional looking roll cage instead of flat aluminum or steel. While the other methods work well, the rounded roll cage bars give a much more authentic look to the truck when the cage is installed.

The only thing I see wrong with this roll cage is the fact it does limit the bumpers ability to flex to an extent. The bumpers absorb a good deal of the force during an impact, and hindering some of this ability will place the stress on other components. So a set of aluminum bulkheads would compliment this upgrade nicely. Aside from that I can find no real flaws, and have to say that the RC Raven roll cage has held up very well through any punishment I've dealt it.

The RC Raven chassis plate is a excellent addition to a heavily bashed T-Maxx. The durability of the cage has been outstanding and anyone looking to put their T-Maxx through some insane stunts or jumps should give this item some serious consideration. There are very few roll cages available for the T-Maxx, and this one from RC Raven ranks among the best.
