RD Logics Traxxas 2.5 Curved Pipe

Testing and Final Thoughts

The RD Logics Traxxas 2.5 Curved Pipe is a very nice looking upgrade. The shiny pipe really makes a T-Maxx look sharp once it's been installed on it. And the different, and slightly louder exhaust tone, is sure to turn some heads when bashing or racing as well.

I really like the fact the pipe routes the exhaust through the bottom of the chassis even more now after driving the truck. Immediately after installing the pipe you realize that you'll no longer have to cut an opening in the truck body for the exhaust port. However after running with the pipe on, it's apparent that this helps cut down on some of the oily mess, that can accumulate on the truck, while driving as well.

The only downside I can see to this pipe is the header clearance issue with the shock tower. It doesn't bother me that I lost the use of the innermost shock position due to the header, but to some T-Maxx owners it may make a difference. An aftermarket shock tower may help alleviate this somewhat, but even with the stock tower you still have two possible mounting locations for the upper mount of the shock.

I can tell a nice performance improvement when this pipe is installed in place of the stock pipe. I have seen a much fatter power curve overall. It's less noticeable on the low end than the top end, but it's an improvement across the whole power band. This pipe will definitely wake up your Traxxas 2.5 motor.

I would recommend this pipe to anyone looking for a good looking replacement, that provides a noticeable power increase for their T-Maxx. I've been very impressed with the quality, fit, and attention to details that RD Logics has placed into these parts. I think that with a price of $70.00, this part is in the same general price range as other similarly performing pipes. However the RD Logics pipe also offers a the ability to turn heads with it's good looks. Which is a very nice bonus.
