Sawtooth RC Knockoffs

Testing and Final Thoughts

I'll be one to admit, I was worried at first about the Knockoffs not wanting to stay tightened down. However, the rubber o-ring seems to do an excellent job of helping the Knockoffs to retain a snug fit. After running several tanks of fuel through the truck after the installation, I never once experience a Knockoff that was loose. the fact that these are machined from aluminum means they will be able to withstand the abuse that bashers dish out as well. Even several months later, my Knockoffs still look as good as new.

I will make mention of the fact that the Sawtooth style knockoff is rather sharp is both the looks department as well as physically. So while I had no problems tightening the Tri-Spoke style, I'd advise keeping a cloth handy for the Sawtooth variation. Otherwise they're a little rough on the fingers! As far as personal opinions go, I feel that the Tri-Spoke design matches most spoked wheels better that the Sawtooth design does, but that's solely in the eyes of the beholder.

All in all, I think the knockoffs that Sawtooth offers work well for bashing rigs. This is especially true for those of us with aluminum rims, as the knockoffs match the wheel's finish better than the stock wheel nuts. Add to that the ability of being able to remove the wheels easily, without the need to have to dig your wheel wrench out, and the set is easily justified at a price of around $16.00.
